Hello mates,

As you see I am new around here, and I will be getting my leo as soon as I have everything set up properly for him, as I am not going to buy it by impulse and let him suffer the often changing enviroment.

I have some questions about them though.

1. Do the tiles have to be made of some special material, or are them just normal tiles? And do I have to put something beneath them?

2. How to keep the moist hide always moist(I'm going to use paper towel).
(How much times to spray it with other per day?)

3. What's the best way to keep the air flowing in the cage? A screen top?

4. Do they really need a light to help keeping the day-night cycle?

5. As he is going to be in my room, and I work a lot, will he wake me up at middle night? :p

Cheers!

1. Pretty much any tiles should work well.

2. To keep moist hides moist I use a spray bottle (the misty-things). Depending on where you decide to put the moist hide, you'll need to be re-spraying it every 1-3 days, and replacing the paper towel inside the moist hide once a week.

3. In my tanks, I use a screen top. But in my rack system, I have holes soldered on the sides (plastic bins)

4. I wouldnt worry about having a light on them, as long as theres sunlight coming into your room during the day, and fairly dark at night, its not a big issue.

5. Well all of my geckos are in my room. And unfortunatly...they do wake me up sometimes lol. I have one thats just a big jerk and decides he wants to dig through his papertowel and scratch right through it and it is LOUD LOL! But generally its not an issue lol.

Hope I could be some help.

I use regular tiles. I use bed-a-beast in my humidity hides and I spray them every eve. Ours are all in our bed room and at first I used to wake up alot when they were being noisey but it doesnt bother me anymore. We have a couple that like to move everything around every night, lol. Good luck with your new little guy or girl. They r awesome little creatures

Really nice!!!

Going to start my setup for them tomorrow, so it's cool for them to come in the start of the next month.

Can you feed Peanut Tenebrio to them?

Thanks!

i've heard tiles don't conduct heat well. should slate tile be used above the uth? like so:

^^^^^^^^ <---- tile
___________ <-----uth stuck to
========== <-----viv bottom

seem about right?

And the temps AT THE TILE should be between 85 and 90, right?

(sorry to hijack...)
