Leopard gecko is eating and pooping but not gaining weight

We are about to pick up a leopard gecko from someone who says that they are eating and pooping but not gaining weight and her tail is super skinny. Im not sure though if this person gives her calcium or vitamins though, if not is that something that would make them not gain weight or what? i really want to help this gecko out and the woman who has her now doesnt know what to do about it. any ideas??

I would suspect parasites...

is it throwing up
if so it could have crypto

no its not throwing up just not gaining weight but she eats and poops fine

Find out from the person you're getting the leopard gecko from what she feeds it, and how much & how often. If you don't feed the leo much it won't grow as fast or gain as much weight.

A picture would help, also the age.

the first thing i would suspect is that they just didn't feed it enough for its size.
