so i just got a very small female tangerine ive managed to get her from 7.7 grams to 8.9 in a week but for the past 3 days it seems like she must be seeing double vision. i put the mealworm down right infront of her and when she goes to snatch it up she will overshoot and miss completely ready back up and do it again, almost looks like shes rocking back and forth but shes actually trying to bite at the insect. she will do this literally 20 times in a row before just giving up. will try and take a video of it tonight. anyone with the same problem or had this problem?

when u say tangerine is that the morph or is she just orange.I know from experience Raptors are very poor hunters because they are light sensitive. They hunt better in the dark.Does she have red eyes?

I had the same issues with my gecko when I first rescued her. She was also small and had a hard time seeing the feeders. I think the problem with her was that she was very lethargic and malnourished from starving, but I was also using a blue night light and a very bright UVA bulb in her tank. So it may be that your gecko is sick and having a hard time seeing, or it could be from the lighting.

What type of lighting are you using in the tank?

EDIT: I was actually assuming that your gecko was full grown and very sick, but if you have a baby gecko, then you can disregard what I said about her being sick.

If she is an Enigma, there is nothing to do but plan to hand feed. They can be quirky in their movements, not abnormal. Mine does all kinds of funny things, it adds to her charm :)

I bought her from a local dealer here as a tangerine leopard gecko so i assume were talking her genetics not the colour. right now she looks more like desert camo then tangerine lol. i see no red in the eyes at all either. i just use natural sunlight and its anything but blindingly bright in the room

doesnt have to have solid red eyes to be a raptor, and yeah could be an enigma. can you post a body pic and eye shot?

Awe what a cutie. He could have maybe enigma in him but those are normal eyes.

Have you tried feeding her in a dish? My bell can't aim but she'll sit there for hours chasing the crickets...but she eats the supers/mealies in her dish just fine. Otherwise she gets fed up trying to chase the worms and won't try if I don't feed them in her dish.

yeah i tired small shallow dishes even one long enough she could fit in it and she just dont care for it. i just tap her nose with the mealworm to get her attention and shes good from then on
