I generally don't name a gecko unless a name comes to me first.

My two poss. het raptors are named Jack and Boo, after their head patterns and the fact that they're bright orange like a pumpkin.

One of their male offspring I named Triton because I think he's a super giant and he used to have a habit of continually soaking in his water bowl (he grew out of that, thankfully! made a royal mess!).

In the past I would pick a theme and stick with it. My crested geckos are named after constellations or stars since I'm dealing with dalmations. One gecko had only one spot on her head when she was a baby, so she's Polaris, and another gecko had two, so I named him Gemini.

It's all about personal taste. ;-)

Any names yet? Im currently liking the names Elijah and Josiah.... I wonder can I get another couple of geckos and vivariums without my overbearing parents(I AM almost 27 and a parent after all) kicking off about it..... Anyway... I'm all about the biblical names at the minute... our Giant African Land Snails are called Adam, Eve and........ Banana.... yes try and work out how a five year old thinks.... Why not Geico? Hehehehehe!

I run with mythology names and names pulled from Latin.. Names pulled from mythology:
Dagda (celtic)
Loki (Norse)
Odin (Norse)
Selena (Modified from "Selene", A Greek moon goddess)

Latin:
Solis (Sun)
Skia (Shadow)
Demi (Half or partial)

As was stated by Snowgyre - it's all about personal taste!
