Hello,
Yesterday evening I took in an abandoned leopard gecko. I have no idea what kind of condition the precious owners were keeping her in but she is very very thin and has an unusual looking tail. I took her home and got her to successfully eat 4 crickets and 3 silkworms dusted with calcium. I also soaked her to try to remove some sticky blue substance that was all over her toes and she drank some water in her bath. She has enough strength to move around a little but she mostly lays down. I put her in an exoterra faunarium with an undertank heater and a moist hide. I’m using paper towel for substrate. Temperatures are around high 80s right now about 88 for the most part. Although I think her condition is due to negligence and malnutrition, I am worried about the possibility of parasites. Her belly is purple but I did not see any black spots indicative of crypto. However, I am no expert and I want to rule out the possibility of an underlying cause to her condition. I will include some pictures to see if you can determine what might be wrong. She looked relatively stronger this morning. This first pic is from yesterday, the second is from this morning.

A vet visit will be the only way to rule out any parisites or any other illness/issues. The tail looks like it either is or was broken. You said your dusting with calcium which is good but make sure you are using a vitamin supplement as well.

Aww she looks like she definitely needs some serious TLC.

I would agree with Brad that the tail looks like it may have been broken. There could be bones sticking into tail fat/muscle which could be painful and I would recommend a vet visit to make sure this isn't happening.

That pretty gecko also looks like she has a bunch of shed on her toes and needs to be soaked a bit to get it off. I can't see totally clearly from your pictures but if it is not shed there's something gone awry with her toes and I would ask a vet to check those out as well.

Best of luck!

A galaxy far, far away...
She's looking much better! From her frame I'd say she's got some MBD going on. Make sure she gets plenty of calcium and food.

The kinks won't go away, but a gecko can still live a long and full life with it.
