Hi everyone out there,
This is my first ever post, but from reading threads, it seems that people on here give sensible, knowledgeable advice and this is what I need right now!
I am the proud owner of a male Leopard gecko, who I have owned for 7 years. He came to me as a rescue, after being kept in horrible conditions. He was a mature adult when he came to me, and a proven breeder. I think he was about 3 years old although the previous owners were unsure. I do not know if he was WC or CB.

He lives in a tank 1ftx 2.5ft x 1.5 ft (81 litre tank or in US speak 21 gallons). Lives on a substrate of fine sand, large rocks and pebbles. With a hide in the warm end, cool end and room to hide under the rocks. There is a heat mat that reaches 1/3 of the way across the tank.

He is fed on a diet of locusts that are gut loaded and dusted with Nutrobal once a week. He gets 4 or 5 '3rds' twice a week, and is able to hunt them on his own. He refuses to eat locusts, isn't a big fan of mealys and I completely avoid wax worms.

MY PROBLEM

On Thursday night, after putting in the locusts, my leo popped his head out of his house to eat. He didn't catch anything and started to move his head up and down incredibly rapidly. This lasted for about 30 seconds. After that he seemed incredibly subdued. He didn't eat for 3 days and defecation has slowed right down. He doesn't like to be handled, but really doesn't seem bothered about me touching him. His tummy doesn't feel ridged so I am pretty sure he isn't impacted.
We had a power cut the other day and since then checking the temp I haven't managed to get it above 85F, so I have ordered a ceramic heat lamp to try and warm it up.
I am also going to try feeding him a dreaded wax worm covered in nutrobal tonight as although i know they are completely fat, I am concerned by the lack of eating.

I guess what I'm asking is that my lizard is 10 years old minimum. Is there a chance its the begining of the end. I have always hoped he would live to be at least 15 :(
