My Leopard Gecko suddenly just stopped eating. He was eating and was healthy and he was nice and fat and his tail was nice and plump and now he stopped eating and he has gotten skinny and his tail got thinner. Any advice would be gladly appreciated guys! God Bless - Moefv

I feed him superworms and will try to switch between superworms and mealworms. I bought him from a breeder at Repticon and I always give him his vitamins in a bottle cap so he can lick it. His warm side is 88-92 and the cool side is from 75-82. He poops frequently and well when he eats. If you need more info please tell me what I am missing. I will try my best to answer your questions so that you can help me! God Bless - Moefv

Check his stomach in the light a bit. If it looks purplish and you can see allot of shadow, he probably is impacted. This happens quite often with a sand substrate. They tend to take in the sand with their food. Make him a warm bath in the sink very shallow just below their chin. The temp should be around 85-90 just as their tank. Slowly and lightly massage their tums. Soak for about 15-20 mins. They should poop soon. Which would get things flowing again, making them want to eat.

Many geckos lose their appetite due to less day light hours during winter. Another reason It may not be eating as much is that his growth rate has slowed. Young juveniles eat much more voraciously than older juveniles. How old is your gecko?

I use paper towels as his substrate and he is an adult. He measures 7-8 inches in length and I don't know how old he is because the breeder never told me, but I know he is either a sub-adult or an adult due to his length and he has been growing since I got him. I feed him supers because that is what the breeder used to feed him and he was fine until between last week and this week. Thanks for all the help! God Bless - Moefv

If you'd actually just fill out the form you're supposed to when posting health questions, people could be giving you better ideas rather than just asking questions that would be answered on the form and making blind guesses based on a lack of information. If you're actually concerned about your gecko, I'd think you'd be willing to take a few minutes of your time to fill it out. Or you could just continue to ignore it. Whatever floats your boat.
