Hello, recently over about a month my gecko has been consistently trying to paw through the cage for almost all night. It is very loud but I'm more concerned as to why he is doing it. He had been doing it before I changed the substrate, but noticeable change is that I changed out some reptile carpet with tiles. I also had moved the dresser today which caused him to freak out and run up the glass but he has calmed down since. But as I said before, this was happening weeks before this. Here is a video I took of him doing it :

https://vid.me/UuMB

About your leo:
- Sex - male
- Age & Weight - about 6 months and I don't know his weight
- How long have you owned your leo - 6 months
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend) - per smart ( basically I rescued him. He is deathly afraid of crickets because of how they would feed him and throw the crickets just on top of him and the other geckos in a small tank )

A)
Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo - at least twice a week
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. - not particularly
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe. - not eating crickets and what has looked like a wet nose but I haven't seen anything like that sense
B)
Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal) - normal
- When was the last time he/she went - yesterday
C)
Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on - already did with a video

Housing:
A)
Enclosure
- Size - a 30 gallon tank turned on its side to make a vivarium type, with wider space for him
- Type (ex. glass tank) - glass
- Type of substrate - eco earth with tiles on top
- Hides, how many, what kind - 3, one hot (log, left side) moist (the green rock on the right ) and regular ( behind the moist under the rocks)
B)
Heating
- Heat source - uth left side under the log hide
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side) - I honestly don't know any exact tempatures.
- Method of regulating heat source - none to regulate
- What are you using to measure your temps - my hand at the moment
- Do you have any lights (describe) one desk lamp but nothing powerful that lights up the room. Nothing specific for the tank
C)
Cage mates - none
- How many (males, females)
- Describe health, or previous problems

Describe Diet:
A)
Typical diet - only mealworms, I feed the mealies apples before putting them in the fridge. I put a multi vitiman in the dish mixed with calcium and when I put the meal worms in the dish I shake them around to get them moving and get them covered with vitiman. I feed a rough amount - maybe 6 or 7 worms whenever I notice that the dish is empty or the worms have stopped moving. Generally speaking there are always live moving meal worms in his dish , no direct feeding times. He doesn't eat in front of me.

Looks as though he's trying to dig his way out to explore or hide. He could be searching for a more secure hiding spot if he doesn't feel safe in his current hides, or he could be trying to find a spot with better temperatures. Or he could just be on a spring search for lady geckos. :) Not much you can do besides providing him with more climbing spots inside his cage to keep him busy.

As a side note, it's a very good idea to get a temp gun or digital thermometer with a probe to keep an eye on the floor temperature over the UTH. The floor should be about 88 - 92 F, and if it's much hotter or cooler, the gecko may have problems digesting. No heating element lasts forever, so it's a good idea to monitor how the heater is doing and make sure it doesn't need regulating with a thermostat or replacement if it isn't producing enough heat any longer.
