You are right about everything you just posted. And you can use mealworms or crickets as a staple or you can mix those to to be a staple. And you can givet them waxworms for a snack once a week or so.

Welcome to the world of Leopard Geckos, Sean! Your tank sounds fine, just make sure you disinfect it and rinse it thoroughly if you have had other reptiles in it. 70 GBP sounds a little high-priced to me, but I really don't know what the average price for a normal leopard gecko in in Europe. As far as feeders go, pinheads are too small to feed a leopard gecko. You need feeders approximately 3/4 the size of the gecko's head, and medium-sized (4-week old) crickets will not make noise at all.

Thanks since the tank is an auqarium there is no door. Dont they need the heat comming up from the bottom to aid digestion? I did wash it out when my snake was moved and i will give it a rinse when i get it out. There is a aquarium light in the top can i use it for viewing peropses only? I can get a baby for £35 but i want at leased a sub- adult. Maby i should shop around.
Thanks again guys.

Welcome to the forum Sean- it sounds like you already are getting a good general idea of what you will need from the excellent advice already posted here
One warning-they are extremely addictive-and you will soon find that one can lead to another and so on...
I don't know how pushy the sales people are in the pet shops over there but don't let them sell you stuff that you don't need
That happens so frequently with first time gecko (reptile) owners and they often go home with a ton of stuff that they not only do not need but that can be harmful to their Leo-IE calci-sand,UV lights etc.
It is great that you are doing the research before buying
You might want to see if there is a list of any local breeders on the web
You can do a search on Leopard Gecko breeders and see if any come up on it in your area and shipping is also an option depending upon the temps there this time of the year
I have found that most Gecko breeders are extremely honest and their pics online really do accurately represent the babies that they are selling
if anything-they usually look even better when you get them
It is always nice to have more than one morph to choose from when you are looking and our privately owned pet stores here often only have normals and Tremper albinos to choose from-nothing wrong with either morph-it's just nice to have more of a choice
You might find that you will pay less from a private breeder than from a pet shop too
Also with buying from a breeder you will know what the parents look like and if your Leo is het for any other morph which can be important later down the road if you decide that you might want to try your hand at breeding them

Welcome to the wonderful world of Leo keeping
:D
