Very nice set-up! It's clean, not cluttered, lots of hiding spots, and he has a lot of room to roam around :D Lookin' good! Are you going to stick to Leo or will you be getting him a partner-in-crime? :p

my fiancee said "we're sticking to Leo for now, he needs to grow up a little before he gets a girlfriend, he's not mature enough yet."

she wasn't so high on the idea of getting a gecko in the first place, but she's coming around i think... maybe when we move out of our condo and into a place of our own we'll start looking for a friend for him...

Is that green play sand/repti sand/calci sand between tiles? Thats the reason weve never switched to tiles, my parents think that once you pick the tiles up to clean them woosh, all the sand flys away to the bottom of the cage.

I just wanted to say that i have ceramic tiles in my tank. And i took the tank into Lowes and they cut the tile to fit right in front of me, and the cutting of the tile was free of charge. Because there are no cracks between the tiles i don't need sand. Its just an option.

it's really fine green hermit crab calcium sand, but i haven't cleaned it since i put the tile in so i really couldn't tell you if it all goes to the bottom right away or not...

i think it's a 15 gallon long (30"x12"x12")

he's been in his humid hide all day today and most of last night

the lowes here couldn't cut the tile (which is probably why there's a new lowes being built right next to it) also the tile i bought didn't have flat edges, they're kinda "natural looking" so i needed the sand.

Im pretty sure 30 x 12 x 12 is a 20 long or a plain 20. The thing with us is we have 3 reptile tanks, a 30 long, a 20 long and a 10, so tiles for all 3 might be expensive. Maybe when I get my paycheck for my summer work...

I have a regular ten gallon, and I went to Lowes and the tiles for just the ten gallon were $4.50. Not bad at all. I don't know how many you would need for a 20 or 30 long, but I used two 12x12 tiles and got them cut down to size.

it's very possible that it's a 20 long, but they sold it to me for the 15 gallon price at the MARS show (50 cents a gallon, $5 for the stand, $12.50 total including the screen top)

the tile isn't too expensive, you can find 1 foot squares for like $1.50 or so. i'd say you could do all your tanks for under $20 total

For tiles I scored a deal awhile back on leftover ones a whole box of 14 gray for $9. They are slight texured and my leo's love them. Easy to heat and clean. They dont fit in my 10 gal but two fit perfect in 15gal long and leave 6 inches in my 30 gal.

i think i must have a 20 long then if a 15 long is 24" exactly... guess i got an even better deal than i thought on my tank.

he picked his corner so he has little paper towel rectangles to go on. and he just shed yesterday i'm assuming since he was almost white and now he's back to his orange little self.

Very nice set up. As for the tiles ask around...just about anyone who owns a house has a box of them sitting in their cellar from some project or another. You can also get discontinued ones from the tile/carpet stores. They've been know to give them to my boys for free.
