leucistic?

Has there ever been a leucistic leopard gecko? Is leucistic a genetic morph or defect? I know the chances of hatching one are really rare. How would you breed for one, or is it luck?

Not yet as far as I know, but it would be awesome... It will happen one day... If we could get more wild caughts here I'd say it'll increase the odds by widening the gene pool...

Leucism is a mutant form a albinism. There are many 'true' leusistic reptiles, but so far nothing has been documented in leopard geckos.

Good question! Many Murphy patternless morphs are inaccurately referred to as 'leucistics'. A true leusistic would be completely colorless and have blue eyes.

A white with blue iris would be pretty cool but.Though it would be a very welcome morph I think we pretty much know what to expect basically a mack snow blizzard with blue eyes(in looks).What i would like to see is the calico/piebald that would be cool i've never seen a calico/piebald animal i didn't like the look of so no reason why it wouldn't look sweet on a leo.A normal(wild type) with large chunks of white on it :main_thumbsup: and when you blend it into the albino morphs (well) :main_cool3: .
