Licking white stuff at anus?

Ok so i was watching my gecko last night because i could not fall asleep and i saw him in a kinda weird position and looked at what he was doing. I got a better angle and he was licking his vent and this white stuff was like sort of coming out..? He has been acting a little strange lately because when i feed him, if he wont eat, i watch him and then almost always he licks his vent again and again, but some days he eats all of his crickets and has no problems. I have no idea what is going on and would appreciate any help.

It could be that he was cleaning himself from sperm plugs, which are quite common and normal for male leopard geckos.

Well that would relieve my worries but about how often would he do this maybe like do it for about a week and then stop for a while or like every so often?

Depends how often your gecko is 'in the mood' or not. ;-) I've never caught my males doing that unless it was directly after a copulation, so don't think they do it that often, and only during the breeding season.

Yea well i had no idea what was going on i didnt know if it was his like pee thingies so i changed his water bowl haha

I think it can happen in males even if they've never been around a female. I caught mine doing that exact same thing, including the discharge from the vent, had a mini panic, then said "oh wait, its normal for male geckos"

Yeah I found some of that on his paper towels in his moist hide. I was like is that pee and then touched it EWWWWWWWWWWWW :shocked:
He had just copulated a day or two before the incident.
