Lid Question

I probably should have posted this earlier.. since I plan on going to the hardware store in a couple of hours.. BUT

I have to basically make my lid since its for a corner aquarium which will be future Gecko Mansion. I have my templat and all of that good stuff already and was just going to have some plexiglass cut.

Do you think there would be enough circulation if I could just get a bunch of holes cut into the pexiglass, like a grid of holes maybe the size of a nickle? I don't know if the hardware store would even do this, but I figured I'd ask. A solid piece seems like it would be stronger than a frame with mesh in it. There is a cat so the stronger the better.

I personally dont like plexiglass, it scratches quite easily. If you are going to use it make sure its thick, at least 6mm plexi or something. Why not make a nice lid with wood?

Making holes will be enough tho, just make enough of them.
