I was really bored today, so I decided to try making a small light box. What a difference it made in taking pictures of the geckos. We had some trouble with the trempers and bells because they are so sensitive to the light, but I feel my 4th grade craft skills went to good use today. It only cost about $2.00 for the posterboard and tape. Everything else I had sitting around. The best subject was our girl Failynn. We liked using Klingonicus to make sure we had the settings on the camera right. Once we get a good camera I will make a better light box, but thought I might share a little of what I have for now.

I think if you try out some different lighting, you can come up with the perfect combination. Aside from the heavy shadow, the pictures really look good. Your box is working like a charm! :main_thumbsup:

Thanks. I found the instructions on some photography school forum. I'm hoping to make a good one once we get a good camera. Right now we just have $100 point and shoot ones.

I have one very similar and it does work great and costs pretty much nothing. Everyone has a box laying around and some computer paper. I have to buy a couple desk lamps but they were cheap and the setup works great.
