My geckos are housed in my basement and I have no access to daylight. Therefore, I have a lamp near each tank that is on 12 hrs and off 12 hrs. Sometimes I use a red light in the lamp for viewing at nigth. Does all of this sound ok?

There is no need for your 12 hr bulb being on.I have my leos in a heated garage with no daylight shining through. There must be some natural light even if its faint..Your basement has windows correct.Leos are nocturnal and do not need natural daylight or lighbulbs shining down on them. All my leos are in their hides during daylight

I actually don't have any windows in my basement. So I don't need the lamp or an overhead light during the day?
