So I am starting to finally purchase things for my tank... and I have two shop lights(dome lights) and I am now just needing to know what bulbs I need.

I read that red is bad, and blue is better and not so harsh on the geckos eyes.

Also, what wattages will I be needing?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a Uth you will be using? If you can use one, I would recommend it. It depends what your temps are reading to decide what wattage to use. I have a 20 gallon long with slate. I use a 20 gallon Uth and 15w day bulb to get my hot spot up to about 92-94. At night I use a 15w blue nighttime bulb. Keep the Uth and lighting to one side so you can get a nice gradient in the tank. You will need a good infrared thermometer or accurate heat gun to ensure you temps are good. My cool side is about 72-74 and that's a good temp for cool side. I don't want to be redundant in case you have already researched, but feel free to ask as many questions as possible to help you with your new pet.
