Lighting in a dark room

I am currently getting ready for my first leo but am unsure about the lighting. It will be housed in a darker room. I ususally don't open the heavy drapes during the day. I'm getting a UTH but I'm not sure if I should also get a light on a timer for during the day. I'm planning on getting a thermostat for the heater but will a light make the tank too hot?

your leo will need to know when it's daytime. If you use a flourescent on top it won't heat up the tank, but check the temps in your tank as long as one side stays below 80 and the other is 90 or over, then you can leave a regular bulb on during the day to help keep those temps. Remember, leos are desert reptiles. Heat is a good thing.
