Lighting Question

Hi Guys, i have a 12 month old male SHCT.

My Question is about providing him with UVB Lighting and also normal Lighting.

His tank is a 60cm x 45cm x 45cm exo-terra glass terrarium.

I already have the 'Compact top' with night-glo bulbs in it at the back of the tank.

I was wondering if it would be ok to put in the exo-terra dual top, with a
repti-glo 2.0 & also a 10.0. Is it overkill ? I doubt it would be detrimental as it
would be quite natural, and obviously it would only be on during daylight hours anyway.

Leos are nocturnal, and don't generally require the UV lighting that some other reptiles do. I'm not sure what type of heat those bulbs put out. You just need to make sure your temps on the hot side floor are somewhere around 93-97F, or 33-36 C. You also need to make sure they have a cool side so they can regulate their body temp.

Im sure you could just not necessary, I have a 40 watt red bulb and a 24 inch UV bar with just a normal 15 watt full specturm UVA bulb in it for the daytime and have not seen any change in color/behavior but the tank looks a lot cooler in the daytime...
