Line-Bred Genetics

I have very little knowledge on genetics, and just thought of a question I'm curious about. When line-breeding for certain traits, are hatchling phenotypes like humans, where it is a toss-up which parent's genes show? Or has anyone noticed that leo mother's traits show more in general? Father's traits show more in general? For all I know, there is no difference in genetics between species in this respect. Which is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I thought of this thinking about hearing people incubating for female, and wondered if it was because of what I just asked? Or just because it fit best with what projects they were working on and what leos they already had.

From my limited experience I'd say the hatchlings are a mix of both parents. From breeding Tang Bell x SHTCT het Bell most were fairly Hypo, but not enough to warrant the name and full of color.

I believe it depends on the genes that both parents are carrying. for instance.these are my results from breeding

jungle albino female x Tangerine Banded Albino male
=Reverse stripe Jungle Albino
When these offspring were bread to a Hybino which I believe is caring banded genes. I got banded HG Albinos.
Which I'm sure have jungle genes in them but are expressing the banding because both their father and the grand father on the mothers side were banded.
this is just my theory.
