Liquid with feces

When I was cleaning out the poop a few minutes ago I noticed a large wet spot (about 2 1/2in long; 1 1/2 wide) where it was laying. If it has happened before then I never noticed. And I know reptiles produce a urate to conserve water so I was just curious of what this was. There was no noticeable odor.

There can be some clear liquid that comes along with the poop especially if it was just..... dropped off. As long as it looks like a health "nugget" I would not be too worried about it. Just confirm that the temps are where they should be and keep an eye on the next few time he/she goes to the bathroom.

I agree with Brad. If it's fresh there will be some liquid with it. As long there is a nice, solid log with the white urate she's probably fine.

The temps are good, he eats like a pig, and poops regularly so I wasn't too worried. But you never know.
Just for the record, I didn't mean your temps were wrong. Just meant for instance if I notice something out of the ordenary in one of my geckos tubs I double check things like the temps to make sure nothing has changed. I have found (a few years ago) that one of the flex watt strips on a shelf on my rack had stopped working. This caused the two geckos on the shelf to go off food and have unusual poops.
But as I siad earlier, Im sure he is fine.

No offense taken. I've noticed the details of the set up are normally the first questions that are asked. I'm a paranoid new reptile owner so I'm checking temps several times a day anyhow.

LOL! I remember those days. Sometimes thats a good thing when it comes to the care of new animals.

It's definitely been a fun month for me, lol. I'm enjoying it so far, though. I already want to get another one but am waiting until I feel more comfortable with Archer and get a mealworm colony up. I like how there's more things that go into the basic care of a reptile. It's not necessarily more complicated but just more to it.
