Ok well i was wondering if i buy plants and pot them from like home depot or lowes would the little white balls or whatever soil they use their hurt my lizards? not only my leo but like mhd's and stuff I dont want to mess up so i am asking here first.

I would say those are usually styrofoam pieces, but it also could be some type of time release fertilizer. These places do feed their plants with plant food as far as I know, so I would be very careful.

If those are styrofoam, in your case, you may be able to "wash" the soil clean of most of the fertilizers, by leaving the plant OUTSIDE of an enclosure for some time, and just watering with clean water. Just make sure it drains well, to get rid of them. I would take the styofoam pieces out, if thats what they are as well, to avoid risk of an animal eating them, and impaction.

NOTE: This is not to say I recommend having live plants for Leopards, but I am sure it can be done. Just some information, for you.:)

well its not for my leos its for my mountain horned lizard but there is no other forums that awnsers as fast as this one. thanks!
