Yes, I did use the search function, and I couldn't find anything on lobster roaches.

Does anyone here feed them?

If so, where have you found the best place to order them from?
I'm considering allowing my husband to breed them to keep them on hand for the geckos.
Because the geckos LOVE them.

I personally wouldn't do lobsters. I much prefer dubia, no smell, can't clime / fly, live birth, good size for geckos.

Lobster roaches don't smell, fly, they also give live birth, and they were a good size for our geckos.
The only thing they can do on your list is climb.
But we didn't have any problems last time they were fed to the geckos.

Lobsters don't have much smell at all. I have over 20,000 so not a small colony. I notice a smell to all the roaches. In my opinion B. Lateralis are the worst smelling of the Roaches, the one's I work with at least.

I used to breed these for my beardies. They really don't have a noticeably strong odor, I mean your not going to smell them unless your trying to hover over them and take a sniff lol. But they are very easily bred as long as you keep your temps warm enough they should breed like mad for you. If you do decide to get some I bought mine from www.wormman.com 100 for $23.40 shipped and they all showed up alive and they also threw in quite a few extra just incase ;)

Thanks, guys!

I simply want to get roaches that CANNOT survive outside of their environment (like, in my house!).
I've heard that lobsters are the ones to get then.

And I cannot stress how much our geckos LOVE them.:D

That's the exact same reason I bred them over dubias lol, simply because if I had them get out I would have been in some trouble lol.

Lobster's and Dubia need pretty much the Exact same requirements so to survive. So neither could become a problem unless you lived in the southern states.

Plus Dubia cannot climb smooth surfaces, thats the advantage they have over lobsters.

Lobsters on the other hand, Adults are very soft bodied, both males and females and are good feeder size for Leos.

They both also have fairly specific diets. They are not like American roaches and can survive off the grease from a finger print or eat just about anything.

I sell both species at very reasonable prices as low as seen in this thread, actually lower!
