These two are still going. Odin's eye infection ended up coming back, and for some reason it's harder to kick this time than it was the last time. They are on their first week of Baytril, and unfortunetally I'm not seeing a difference. Loki has an appitite and will gobble up waxies on occasion. But Odin will not. Most of the time he just sits there with his eyes closed.

I'm sure many of you have used this to treat infections... about how long was it before you started seeing any improvement? Tonight will be the 5th night they're getting it.

Sucks that they weren't able to find out what type of organism is causing the mystery infection...

When my Loki had a RI he was on baytril injections (at the base of the tail) for ten days, one injection every other day. I started seeing big improvement around his last couple injections.

I'm sorry your babies aren't doing well. :( What were the test results from Dante? Inconclusive?

Yup. They knew it was a bacterial infection and liver failure for Dante. They still sent out a smple to try and culture it, but weren't able to grow anything I guess. So they still don't know what kind of infection it was.

Loki has a good bit of energy it seems. She sleeps all day, but when it's feeding time she runs around like a nut and is constantly jumping out of my hands. Odin on the other hand seems to have no energy.

Odin

Looks like Odin is still loosing weight and not doing as well. He was at a steady 11 grams for the longest time, now as of last night he's down to 10. He just doesn't look/act normally.

Going to try speaking to the vet today, probably won't get a response until tomorrow. Hate to say it, but I'm almost certain we're going to end up loosing him as well to this mystery illness.

They ate!

Hubby was keeping an eye on these two this morning before I got up, and somehow managed to get both to eat a cricket each. Yay Odin & Loki! :D now keep this trend going!
