Hi there, it's been a while. If anyone remembers me, I was the totally clueless newbie who made lots of mistakes. I had the scrawny male that couldn't catch food for nothing, and the very chunky female who started laying random eggs after we finally separated those two.
Okay, so, a few months later, things have changed so much! The female has lost weight, and looks much better. She still has a bit to go, but she is nowhere near as fat anymore. I think we have the feeding schedule and amount figured out now. The male on the other hand has not only gained weight, but he also has grown! He actually looks like a male now. His head has gotten so big, and his entire body just, grew up. It's amazing! He also doesn't have much trouble catching the mealies anymore. The female is a lot more active now, she is up on and off day and night. The male sleeps during the day and wakes up late at night.
No more eggs either.
The last time I measured/weighed them was three months ago, and they were both 8 in, with the male weighing 50oz (he was 36oz when I first came here!!), and the female 48oz (she was about 54oz back then).
I feed 3-5 mealworms every other day, dusted with Repashy Plus, and they have a dish with plain calcium available at all times. Now that their diet has improved, they don't show much interest in it anymore though.
Does the feeding schedule sound alright?
And here is a pic of each gecko's tank, the female's is the one with the yellow plastic container, it's her potty house, she refuses to use anything else for that.
