Well guys, my breeding season has finally begun. My girl friend Kristi got to watch it happen. One of my 10 yearold females, Star, laid her first egg ever today! Here are pictures of the egg with and without a flash. We are EXTREMELY happy :)

Hm... thats kind of odd. I have a female that has never laid an egg in her life. She is 7 years old. I've been wanting to breed her but am thinking it would never happen due to her unprodusiveness (thats soooo not a word). How did you get that old girl to produce eggs?????

I'll give the timeline of how it happened. I've had her and her 10 yearold sister since they were hatchlings. I got them when I was in fourth grade from my uncle. They've been together their whole lives. Over Christmas Break I got a normal male to go with the two sisters. I quarenteened him and got his weight up higher. I put the two sister and him in the same tub in my rack system. After about 3 weeks, she showed signs. She's my first gecko to lay egg so I wasn't sure if what I was seeing was the real deal. It turns out it was :) I forgot to mention this was the first time she was with a male.

Wow 10 Years old an never laid an egg? Congratulations!!
I read in Tremper's book they go through menopause around age 9, so I wasn't too sure. I figured I'd give her a male and it worked :)

To everyone else who commented, thanks! I appreciate it! I'm also incubating at 81 degrees. From what I've read, I should expect around 60 days, is that about right?

THANKS!
