Okay, so poor little Gex has been stuck with a 10 gal all his life, except when I first got him and he was very little he was in a 5 gal. They are $39.99 and not on sale, so I don't have to rush to buy one.

So anyway, I've really wanted an i-pod/mp3player thingy, but I'm going to buy that AFTER the cage, because I need that cage awfully bad, he doesn't even like to be in his cage anymore.

I had also bought a Lizard Cave, and it takes up half the cage, and that is really bad considering he really loves it. I've got that hide on the cool side, and two on the warm side. (normal and humid)

I feel so horrible he should have gotten this cage three months ago! And it could be another one or two months before I even have the money. He's running out of room and everything.

Although, I am very happy with the price of this cage, and I'm not getting the 20 gal tall, I'm getting the long. I'm going to have maybe Reptic carpet, or just paper towels, most likely I'll buy a few more hides.

I'm also working on getting a Digital Scale, and Digital Thermometer.
I'm very busy!

Well, anyway just wanted everyone to know that I finally made it to the petstore to check out prices.

Thats great Sarah :) You can use the paper towels, you don't need the carpet. Dig thermomenters are between like $6-$15. The dig scale if you just going to use it for geckos Walmart would be good. I Spent almost$37.00 for mine but it will weigh up to 5lbs and does other things that I have not read because I been just using it for my geckos lol. Check craigslist.org also. People are always selling or giving 20L tanks. Just make sure to clean it really good. When people start getting into a new hobby like reptiles, they always make mistakes so you know what to do now and you are doing it.

I found that buying some of the stuff from eBay helps to save you some money. I bought a digital thermometer for about $7 shipped (the only ones I could find at a petstore were $15), and I bought a digital scale that weighs up to 35 lbs (which I realize is pointless for a gecko) on eBay for about $20 shipped. I've also bought repti carpet and water dishes off of there too. It can save you a little bit of money, though you always risk something going wrong with the seller, but I haven't had many problems with anyone on there. If you'd like to know the exact sellers that I've bought this stuff from just ask, or you can search yourself.

And I agree with Ccrashca069 as well by looking in classifieds and whatnot to find things cheaper or even for free.

Hope this helped :) !

I know what scale you got. I have one for shipping, but anything under 9 oz. is inaccurate. You can get small pocket scales for about $5. Cant wait to see your new cage.

Thanks for your help! I'm always looking at the Thrift Stores.
I'll look on Ebay too, they usually have pretty good stuff, that's cheaper then Pet stores. Also, I looked at the Red bulbs at Petco, and there was on for almost $20.00, can I not just use a normal one?
I am so ready for a new cage, and I bet he is too. :p

You do not need a red light at ALL. A UTH will work just great alone! Red lights just cause more stress than needed, some will argue that they cannot see them, but either way they are not need.

Craigs list is a great choice to find a tank. I got a 20L from a guy for $15. Unfortunately, there's as many people getting out of the reptile habit as there are getting into it. I'd guess most of these people are parents of kids who wanted a reptile and lost interest. I've even seen whole setups, lights, UTH's, the works for $30-$40.

Also, if ou want a red bulb for night time viewing you can pick one up at target or walmart in the lightbulb section for $2-$3. If anyone tries to tell you that these are different than the ones they sell at petsmart for $10 I'd ask them to prove it. But as stated, just for a nice light that you can use to see them when they're active at night without spooking them.
