losing appetites

I've been breeding leopard geckos for a couple years now and always at this time of year my breeders like to stop eating. Even my biggest eaters will lose all interest in food. It gets really frusterating when I have some juvenile females that will eat every mealworm I put in front of them from their hatch until 40-50 grams and then just stop. The temperature remains the same for them all year and I feed them mealworms. Does this happen to anyone?

could it be possible that the females are ovulating and not wanting to eat?

is it male and females that are doing this? maybe you got some mealies that

they dont like the smell or taste of. Kinda hard to say but normally females

quit eating when they start there breeding season.

This time of year can be difficult for some geckos. This is when they would be brumating in the wild, and their metabolisms will slow down and they will not be eating. With mine, I find that when the daylight hours begin to become longer than the nights, their appetites will pick-up again.

Also, I agree with the suggestion that the females may begin to ovulate in January and February, and this may also affect their appetites.
