Hi! New on this forum but not new to the reptile world! I am currently watching my daughter's leopard geckos while she is away on college, and of course problems have to come. So, this Gecko Roxie, she is about 7-8 years old, yesterday I see lumps by her eye and her throat. She didn't eat anything (that I saw), will take her to the vet but I only have this wed.afternoon available and I'm not sure when the reptile vet is available yet. So meanwhile, any suggestions?http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v692/hemilady/hehheheh006.jpg

Your vet is going to have to be the one to diagnose the issue, but it appears to be some sort of infection. Those lumps will possibly be lanced and drained. You may also be prescribed an antibiotic. Most vets are shying away from baytril as a broad spectrum antibiotic and hopefully your vet does as well. I forget what the new broad spec antibiotic being used is called, but it starts with a c. If someone else doesn't pipe up soon then I'll call my best friend, as he's using the new stuff to fight an upper respiratory issue in some of his desert tortoises he's using for his PhD research. I would get to a vet as soon as possible though. The vets I've used in recent years offered the ability to do drop offs and were open beyond 5pm so that you could pick-up your animal.
