Lutron dimmer question.

I'm setting up two leo tanks and got two Lutron dimmers from lowe's.The dimmers are Lutron single pole rated 120V/600w.Is this the right dimmer that I need?I will be hooking them to zoomed heat pads..Thanks... T.j.

you can hook 2 heatmats up to the one dimmer stat so you can take one back, place probe in one tank, i assume they are going to be side by side, just get an extension plug, as long as the mats aren't 300W each lol you will be fine. 600W is the max they can hold, personally I would take both back and get a pulse proportional stat as they were designed to pulse steady waves not turn on/off, or be designed to be used with lightbulbs like yours.

They work fine, just make sure to plug them into a lamp first so you know which way turns the power up and down. I put a + and - on my dimmer, it seems to be the opposite of what you think it should be.
