Mack Snow Ghost and what will happen

Hi everyone!

I have a question, simply when breeding a Mack Snow to a Mack Super Snow you´´ll get 50/50 MS and MSS.

When now breeding a Mack Snow Ghost to a Mack Super Snow what will happen?

I´m asking cause Alex Hues Ghosts seem to be dominant which means that it´s not realy Super Hypo in the way of linebreeding Super Hypos right? And if it´´s dominant it should show of on every hatchling you´´ll have with a Ghost right?

So it should be 50/50 MS Ghost and MSS Ghost right?

Does anyone ever tested it? I mean I heard of Mack Snow Ghots but never of Mack Super Snow Ghosts and what they would look like.

THX for help

best wishes from Germany(so excuse my maybe bad English^^)

actually MS X MS gives you

25% normal(no trait)
50% MS
25% SS

MS X SS gives you

50% MS
50% SS

I am not familiar with the ghost gene's outcome when bred, so I can't answer that question with certainty.

oops, I misread you question as MS X MSS ... Sorry.

I do believe the ghost gene is codominant which would give you 50/50 once again. Double reccessive(or codom) cross percentages are not my thing.... sorry.

hhhmmm when codom whats the super form?^^ Thats the question and why aren´´t their any MSS Ghosts or are they?
hmpf dunno what the answere is but maybe someone knows.

When it´s codom it would depend on weather I have the Superform or not.
If Superform it would be:
50% MS Ghost
50% MSS Ghost

If just the het form it would be:
25% MS Ghost
25% MS
25% MSS Ghost
25% MSS

But the thingy is I dunno of MSS Ghosts^^

Well from reading a few threads on alex hue's forum , it seems he hasn't hatched a SS ghost yet.

I read ghost is codom on this forum. I did a advanced search of this forum using "ghost"

Here's a great thread for anyone seeking info on Ghosts...

I'd totally forgotten about it and it's helped answer some of my own questions!

By the way I got one of them!

Here she is...
P1020186.jpg

I just got her eating supers about a month ago and she has fattened up a lot. She also colored up quite a bit...

She looked like this until about three weeks ago...

She has a little more wait to gain and then I'll be breeding her to my Mack Snow Bell.

According to Johannes' research I should get:

25% Ghost het Bell
25% Ghost Bell
25% Mack Snow Ghost het Bell
25% Mack Snow Ghost Bell

That is assuming she's a Super Hypo (no black head or body spots)...

So if you paired a Mack Snow Ghost with a Super Snow you should get:

25% Mack Snow
25% Mack Snow Ghost
25% Super Snow
25% Super Snow Ghost

If your's is a Super Hypo (dominant Ghost) you'd get:

50% Mack Snow Ghost
50% Super Snow Ghost

He's now 40 grams, but the image was at around 34. I will breed him this fall if my females ovulate that early.

SHHHH, most of my breeder stock is :) If I am going to produce geckos, I want to make great ones(whether worth $20 or $2000)

-Back on subject-

Seems that even Alex Hue hasn't produced a SS that he'd consider ghost, though he has produced a few reduced pattern SS.
