hi. i posted a while back about crossing my female Murphy Patternless CT with my male Striped MS. i just got a male juvie Mack Snow TA that is much closer to my subadult patty's age and decided to use him instead of the striped MS male. i will breed them next year when they both reach adulthood. what are the possible outcome from this cross? what will i get from a patty/MSTA union? and would i still be able to produce MSS patty on the second gen (sibling/sibling X)? and is it also possible to produce MSS patty TA? :main_huh: TIA

You would get 50% normals 50% Macks, all of them het Tremper albino and Murphy patternless.

Look for the possible combinations with siblings and parents in http://www.geneticswizard.com

Set the number of traits to three (Mack snow, Tremper albino and Murphy patternless). Consider Mack snows as "hets" and Super snows as "homozygous".

Thats correct you should get approximately 50% Normals and 50% Mack Snows Double Het for Tremper Albino and Patternless.

Open the genetics wizard.

Set the number of abnormal traits to three. Then hit "build query form".

In the form, write in the left column (genetic traits) "Mack snow", "Tremper albino" and "Murphy patternless". Then set everything to "het" in the "male" and "female" columns.

If one of them was a super snow, you would set that row to "Homozygous". The same if any of them was a patternless or an albino. If they are not mack snow or super snow, or het nothing, you would set that row to "WT" (wild type).

When you are done, click "Ask the wizard". And you will get all the possible combinations and %.

Interpret "Het. Mack snow" as Mack snow and "Homozygous Mack snow" as super snow. "WT" as normal. "Homozygous albino/patternless" is a visually recognizable albino or patternless, and "Het. albino/patternless"... Well, I don't think I need to tell you that.

I could do it myself easily but I'd rather teach you how to use it :main_thumbsup:

:main_yes:

1.5625% Homozygous tremper albino, Homozygous mack snow, Homozygous murphypatternless,
1.5625% Homozygous mack snow, Homozygous murphypatternless,

See? That means you have a 1.5625% chance of producing a Super snow patternless albino with that cross.

And about the Super snow patternless...

3.125% Het. tremper albino, Homozygous mack snow, Homozygous murphypatternless
1.5625% Homozygous mack snow, Homozygous murphypatternless

3.125% + 1.5625% = 4.6875% chance of producing a visual super snow patternless. Since you won't be able to tell albino hets apart, all of them would be 50% poss het albino.
