made SOME progress.. getting closerr

so today i decided to start trying to hand tame him, i put my hand in there so he would walk up to it, but he just stood there and licked my finger, so i tried properly picking him up from the side and he just kinda bolted away, last time i tried this (3 days ago) he hissed and bit me. but he didnt this time. so am i getting closer?

Yep, licking my hand is how I started with mine. I just left it there and eventually he got curious and walked on to my hand. Just take it slow, he'll become used to you over time.

Indeed, just letting him get used to your hand in there will help. It took my lil bolt a while before she got used to me but now she will run right out and let me pick her up or climb right on.

don't try to pick her up yet. Im with the others...let her lick your hand and get use to it in there. Eventually she will wiggle her way onto your hand. patience!!

Sounds like good progress to me! If he's licking you, it means he's getting used to your smell.

ok so today i laid my hand in his tank and he took one step then just stood there for 5 mins, didnt lick it or anything, he been really skidish and jumpy lately, hes eating a crapload of mealies, i have to refill about 2 times a day, but im doing it right by just laying my hand in there? should i move my fingers so he comes closer? or will he just bite me thinking im a giant mealie?

I'd just hold your hand still. If I move my hand too much, Toon will look at it like it's food but she's never bitten me when I do it. Also, try talking to him lol. Whenever Toon hears my voice, she comes running out of her hide.
