Male behavior

My new male has been darting around his cage in the evening, he makes quick movements and uses his front feet to scratch at the floor... what's the meaning of this behavior?

From my observations I've noticed that it only happens to my adult males at the start of the breeding season, or if he hasn't been with a female yet. My male Zeus is going crazy lately lol.
