So my male is biting his girlfriend. She doesn't seem to be responding to well to it, she is biting back. Anything i can do to make the mating go smoothly... they live together.

Crested geckos dont really hae an ovulation cycle like leo geckos, quite literally at any time they can breed, which is why people designate a cooling period because if given the chance they will breed all year round and get burnt out.

One how large are both of these geckos? Depending on her size she may be telling him she isnt ready yet. Or if he is much smaller she is saying no way youre not good enough. She may have already been bred and she is tired of him always getting at her or she simply doesnt like him being there. They obviously are not getting along and alot of damange could be done to the both of them so reguardless right now I would seperate them and try introducing again in a few weeks.

How long until you can tell if a crested is gravid? My girl got mean with the male when he kept trying to breed her after she was already bred so could be the same prob, but if they are anything like leos the males wont stop trying lol and seperation is best.

They are cresties, first of all. They have been living together for almost a year now. Cage is rather large 2 feet wide foot and a half high and deep. Girl is larger then male. I have another tank im just waiting to have plants grow in a little better. maybe i will put female over in the new tank once the plants have all settled.

OK that still doesnt help, what is their weights? If they have been living together for a year now and you bought them at a younger age, your problem is one, you shouldnt have kept them together as the male could breed the female to you. But two she isnt interested in him. I know you say the tank is big, but that doesnt fix the fact that she isnt interested in him. It might be because he is small, or it could be because she isnt ready to breed yet (it is pretty early to start breeding, by starting in January you are basically having your female breed for 10 months only allowing her 2 months to cool down which you said you house them together all year round so she may not get the chance to cool down which will one burn her out, and two shorten her life span). If you dont have any extra tanks, simply get a tank divider and divide the tank in half. But you really need get them seperated now and not later, later some serious damage could be done to them.

Got ya dark. I'm going to get the separated as soon as possible. Hasn't been a problem yet but don't want to turn it into one. Male has always been a bit smaller then the girl and during cricket feedings she has always been way more aggressive at hunting. I will turn one of my 20 gallon longs into a crested cage.
