This one has me about to give up all hope of being male. It is a snow that I incubated for male but appears to me to be female. What do you think?

It looks like a male to me. I see dark pitted pores [after I sharpened the picture in Photoshop] and a two small bulges with definition inbetween. I find the Mack Snows the hardest to sex. I had a "female" that was born on 6/20/07 that just last week dropped balls.. Its definetley a male now.. haha. How much does he/she/it weigh? Is it housed by itself? By the time my Mack Snows have hit 35 grams or so.. They seem to be a lot easier to sex. :main_yes:

I house all my leos by themselves. He/she is 31 grams. Seems to be growing a little slower then the rest of my animals tho. But was one of my smallest hacthlings at 3 grams.

It seems to be male but this one may be one you just have to wait on! DO you have a magnifying glass or anything that you can hold up to the geckos "private area" lol and take a better look at the pores. It is awfully bulgy but the pores are throwing me off

it has the V shape pores, so i say male. even thought they are hard to see, they are still there.

No, its is female to me at this point. For all of you who said that they have the V shape, look at your own females, all geckos have pores, males are much larger and more noticeable. I would definitely say female at this point.

thats a female

no? At that weight you should see bulges. The pores you cant rely on as much in my opinion. Thanks

Who are you talking to? Use quotes, or address the person, it will avoid alot of confusion.

If you are addressing me: Do you see any bulges there? I don't see any. Pores are one of the best things to use in my opinion.

Ya know the more and more I think about this the more it bothers me so I am just gonna say it..because I do hold my tongue alot on here but. Simmer down children simmer down no need to get all rowdy over trying to sex a gecko...Let everyone have thier opinion and value that...this is what makes this forum so different and better than all the others. A year ago this would have never started an argument here. I like Tamara, have also enlarged the picture and seen bulges. Just my opinion please dont jump down my throat

Why not just house it with a known female? Than if they mate hes a male... if they don't its most likely a female. Than stick her in with a male and see if they mate. Seems pretty easy to deduce here.

:beatnik:-Hey dudes be cool :argue: lol

*edited for grammatical error

Some people don't house any of their geckos together (like us) and I think Okeechobee Reptiles is the same way....it just prevents the "what ifs" from happening. And when housing 2 or more geckos together you can't tell if only one is eating the worms or only one pooping until sometimes it might be "too late" to do anything without being drastic about it.

You bring up a valid point and indeed your geckos housing is your affair. I with my VERY limited experience in raising herps as a whole much less leo's have very little to say on the sex based on look. I was just saying thats a way to tell. :main_yes:
