Personally, as much as I want to experience the magic of breeding... from what I understand its way over-done. I don't have it in my heart to euthanize deformed geckos, I don't have the time, money, or space to give them proper care either. So rather than contribute to the problem of an inflated market/large number of geckos lacking proper care, I'll just collect a few and make sure they live very spoiled lives.
Maybe some breeders browsing this thread should weigh in the responsibilities and challenges that accompany the venture. I'm pretty sure its not all about just watching those devilishly cute hatchlings crawl their way out of the egg.
I'm not a breeder but you only need one male really, so if I was breeding I would breed for mainly female's you would sell more of them, a male would be only worth it if you were producing exceptional offspring that people would want in their blood lines.
I agree with mostly females so that if you don't sell them you can (in theory) keep them in one big community tank which will probably make life a tiny bit easier on you. Plus it be fun to watch them interact with each other.
I voted female but would also make males on purpose from time to time
I've only done one pairing so far and ain't seen the eggs layed yet lol
I'll be making them girls
