I feel a fool asking this but this little ones got me a bit confused. Sold as a probable female-seller was more then 60% sure she was a she- but Little Akashi seems to have me wondering. Heres a shot and let me know what you think...she seems like shes got the male buldge but am i just blind and not seeing the pores? male or female?

Very much so but i suppose its fine. After getting Boutoashi and having his girls planned out i did have a red bi-colored dalmation girl who maybe good for Akashi. Thanks~ I thought he was rather buldgie for a girl and needed a second opinion.

The gender of New-Caledonian gecko's is easy to determine when they are adult.
The males show a distinct Hemipenal bulge at the tail base by that age. The females have no bulge.
Here are some pictures to show the diffrence:

Female:

Usually they will get a hemepenal bulge between 10 and 15 grams, but some are a bit late and won't get them till 20 grams. You can also sex the animals before the bugle appears.
Around 5-10 grams male Rhacodactylus will show their "Pre-anale Pores" (there are some exceptions to the rule), females don't show these pores.
These pores can be seen via loup, macrolens or scanner
It can be hard to see these pores, especially when they have a lot of pattern on their belly.

This all counts for Rhacodactylus cilatus, sarasinorum and chahoua. The females of Rhacodactylus leachianus, auriculatus and trachycephalus can have a thing called "Pseudo-pores".<br>
Those look like pores, but are more dents in the scales than real black dots.
With Rhacodactylus auriculatus the females can have real pores. They can have 3 rows of pores or less. Males always have more than 3 rows.

This is a close up picture of the area of a female Rh. ciliatus. As you can see there are no pores present.

As you can see, pores are shown very clearly.

Here are 2 pictures of little leachianus.
When we took the pictures the female was 8,9 gram and the male 9.9 gram.

This is a picture the female. As you can see there are no pores present.
