I can honestly say that I haven't seen a male get rejected when trying to breed. That being said I've never had first timers before and all mine are this go around. I took this video of the first introduction and I'd like to know what you guys think. The male is the one closest to the camera with no pattern and the female is the one with the slight banding and not as bright. At one point she hits him in the face with her tail and runs away.

I separated them right after the video ends, I just didn't have a good feeling about how she reacted to his advances. Was I over protective. See the video below:

Is your female ovulating? If she isn't ovulating then she will be more likely to reject him. you were spot on to seperate. I would check and see if you female is ovulating..and if not wait till she is before putting her with the male.

I didn't check before putting them together. I've never had an issue with breeders before but the geckos I used to have were all proven by the time I got them. These are first timers so I guess it is more important. It's either that or I got really lucky with the previous batch :)

I'm going to check and make sure she is before the next introduction.

So I'm pretty sure my female was ovulating this time around and she still ran around the cage and gave him the slip. He was a little more aggressive but still no go. Very frustrating, even though I knew that she is female I had to check again, lol.

I have now attempted 4 more times and the female keeps getting more aggressive. I spoke with the breeder that I purchased them from he told me to put them together for 48 hours and check in to make sure there are no injuries but I needed to let the male establish dominance. He assured me that he has never had any injuries resulting from this practice. I had seen rogers post to let them sit together for 5 days, it just seems like they get so aggressive so fast it makes me nervous. What are your thoughts?
