Males that do not show bulges or dots?!

I have two males here, they're both about 10 months old, you can't see ANY form of bulges on the back of their tails, neither you see the usual dots. Yet when put with female they'll jump on them.

First i thought they were just asocial but after looking again, they do what a male would do.. This is quite surprising and i can't find much about this, if anything. I hope you can tell me if they're male or lesbians :main_laugh:

Little add : Forgot to mention that these two where once together. I heard fighting. Even though nobody seemed wounded at little, one had is tail size recuced by two. Usual symptom of a male being hunted by another;

I think you said "lesbians" as a joke, but that sounds like exactly what you have. In the Leo community, they are known as "hot females". If eggs are incubated to be male, but the temperature gets too hot (or maybe just has too much temp variation), you can end up with female bodies that have mate attitudes......so they are literally "females that like females" (because they act like males). This "hot female" tendency to act like males is probably why these two "hot females" want to fight...maybe they even smell like males to each other also...??

A male would still detect it as a female, right? This is THE test to make sure it's a female.. ADD : I just did the test, it's a female indeed and she didn't reject the male..

I have no idea if hot females are infertile or not but from what I've heard they act too much like males to ever mate so it may not matter if they are or not. They want to fight males when they see them and won't sit still to breed.

I put her with my male and she sit still.. He's twice her side though.

Hot females can breed but it is kinda hard because they're pretty bitchy. I had one hot female get raptor I was going to give away until I had her out and my large 103g sunglow male was eyeing her, I let him have a go and she was completely submissive for him. Any gecko her size (65g)male or female she'd just want to straight attack. This is my first experience ring able to breed a hot female though so we'll see how her eggs turn out. Se laid them the other day and they're fertile but they may self abort
