Mandarin Bandits

We have successfully bred our two best geckos we produced last season, Mandarin, and Lucky, the first and best Bandit ever to come out of our Zorro project.

Their babies should be pretty wild looking, and I'm hoping for bright orange Bandits with super bold Zorro markings...

Here are a couple pics for those of you not familiar with them.



Mandarin is still young, about 7 months. His orange bands and carrot tail are still spreading.

Lucky is a product of Zorro and Lynne, our best Bandit female breeder.

It took me a long time to talk Carol into this pairing, but I finally wore her down and made it happen.

It was a bit of a push because Lucky is really stunning and would have produced great regular Zorro Bandits, but we already have some nice females for that project. Mandarin is just so bright that I want to see what all he can produce with his genes. Pics never do him justice....seeing him in daylight is quite a sight. Let's hope for the best.

Mandarin has already been bred to our best female Tangs and also to Violet, our best Lavender Banded female. Babies are starting to hatch.....

I'm confident we will get orange Bandits, some Jungle, some Striped. I decided to breed Mandarin to Lucky, though I could have bred her to another Tang Bandit male we already have in our collection.....see pic:

I was fortunate enough to see some of Ray's geckos first hand at the store! AMAZING!
I don't know if I saw the two proud parents, but everything I did see was top of the line! My boys enjoyed Buffalo Bob too.

Thank you. We will try to produce enough of these to get some to Hamm for our gecko folks in Europe. Lucky is young so availability will be very tight until the project develops some more....
