Who is going to the MARS show this weekend?

Will any one here be vending?
I'm assuming Deb from Sacred Creatures will be ;) .

i'm pretty excited about going, this will be the first reptile show i've gone to and i can't wait.
any suggestions of vendors to stop at if i'm looking for a good deal on a leo for a pet? i really like tangerines and sunglows but didn't know how much i would have to spend on one...
i'm trying not to break the bank on a gecko yet since i have a feeling the tank and heater and everything else are going to be kinda pricy to start out.

thanks

There are always tons of vendors but I never know who is going. As I mentioned Sacred Creatures will probably be there but it has not been confirmed. When buying any new pet you want the one that is most alert and active. Check the toes for any unshed skin or damage.

A complete leo set-up can be done for around $100, it can be cheaper if you can make your own hides and food/water dishes. Remember not to use sand.

i already bought some hides and food bowls from blackjungle, they were all on clearance and the cheapest i've seen anywhere (my fiancee doesn't know this yet but she's kinda resigned herself to the fact that i'm getting a leo). also the people that run the mars show have used tanks they're selling for cheap (50 cents a gallon) so i'll buy one of theirs if i get there early enough, probably a 20 long if they have one. i figure i'll use paper towels at first until i get a chance to move to tile. i still need to find a heater though, i was thinking i should get an under tank heater with a rheostat so it will stay at a constant temp, and i've heard they don't necesarily need lights so i might forgo them for the time being as well to cut down on cost initially.

i just came back from the show a few hours ago. i got a super hypo tangerine male (possibly het for bell albino) from jmg reptile for $30 and a 15 gallon long tank with screen cover and stand for $12.50 from the reptile information network (the people who organize the show). the zoo med guy was great, sold me a uth for $10 bucks and later when i went back to see about getting a thermometer he just gave me one for free... i still need to find a thermostat for the heater, so i'm keeping an eye on the temp myself for the time being.
right now leo's (my fiancee named him) tank is pretty bare, just some tile from lowes with hermit crab sand from the pet store to fill the cracks. i also made him a temporary hide out of a lightbulb box and gave him a water dish and mealie dish with some vitamin powder in it too. i'm still waiting on my order from black jungle but it should be coming soon and he'll have a real water dish, mealie dish, hide, cricket rock and a surprise gift.

Sorry Brian, I was unable to make it at the last minute. We had to drive up to NY and pick up all of my buddy Rob Mosko's geckos and racks since he is currently out of the business. I bet it was fun!!! I won't miss the next one!!! Hugs to you all Deb ;)

I don't think there were as many vendors there this year but it was still good. I saw an enigma for the first time in person, neat looking. JMG had a real nice variety with excellent pricing IMO. I wound up picking up a baby Mack Snow for $20. That vendor was more into snakes and didn't know what they were talking about when it came to leo's. I actually left the show (ripped off the wrist band), then went back 3 hours later (my wife slipped off her band and gave it to me) to get the gecko  . My wife was about to shoot me :rifle: .
