CALLING ALL MARYLAND RESIDENTS!
I've recently joined the Maryland Amphibian & Reptile Atlas (MARA) 2010-2014 Project and you should too! If you're interested in Maryland's natural history, conserving reptiles & amphibians and helping with documenting wildlife then this is for you. Plus, it's free!
I found out about this opportunity after I joined the Natural History Society of Maryland. http://www.marylandnature.org/
It's easy, just contact your local county coordinator to get started.
Here is a list http://www.marylandnature.org/mara/index.htm
If you have a specific plot of land/water you wish to collect data from simply tell your coordinator so they can see what block you're in. Photos and sound clips are all great evidence! Your coordinator will give you a species list of what they have documented so far and your goal will be to expand that list!
There are even group meet-ups and training at local wildlife parks so you don't have to do this alone.
Here's an example of what you will be seeing once your coordinator gets back to you. (This one is for Howard County, MD) http://www.howardbirds.org/herpatlas/index-MARA.htm
Thanks guys! :main_thumbsup:
