Maybe I should avoid ...?

My son and I visited a local pet shop yesterday. They had a nice looking Golden Gecko that was only $29. If we had tanks set up already, I might have been motivated to take it home.

But, after reading some details about the Goldens ... perhaps I'd want to avoid them as a starter Gecko.

Are there any other caveats I should be aware of about other Gecko varieties.

Some good geckos for beginners include leopard geckos, crested geckos, common house geckos, and mourning geckos. There are others, but these ones are the easiest to acquire.

Leopard geckos and cresteds can be on the friendlier side and the other 2 are just easy to care for, but skittish.
