I have an adopted tangerine hatchling that's eating fine, and seems to be okay over all, but its got something wrong with its leg. Every time she put even a little weight on it it bends down to the floor. I just can't seem to find out what's wrong with it. Could it be MBD, and if so what can I do to help nourish her back to health? I've never had this problem before , and I need help!

That definately sounds like MBD. Just dust with every meal and have it available in the cage. I've read that people give their leos calcium gluconate (liquid calcium). Hope I helped or someone else can.

It sounds like my rescue gecko has exactly the same problem, even down to the leg bending down to the floor, the leg may be broken.

I thought mine had broken it's shoulder as it was doing that exact same thing, so I took him to the vet today to discover he has a fractured humerous, and an X-ray confirmed this was probably caused by Metabolic Bone Disease.

If he lives with any other geckos you should probably try and separate them, as MDB 'causes a very fine bone density, a simple knock, or something as simple as another gecko standing on his leg could cause a bone to break or crack. Ensure he eats a lot of calcium by dusting all it's food, also mix some calcium into his drinking water.

The vet also recommended I get a light with at least a 300 nano range ( im not sure what that means, only discovered this today).

Hope this helps, I'll be updating my other post as I go along, so maybe keep an eye on that.
Hopefully both our wee guys'll get through this.

MBD is treatable, but the effects are irreversible. Keep calcium in the enclosure at all times. Sorry, but Best of Luck for the future. :main_yes:
