Tonight, one of our babies back legs were bent backwards at the knee. Right away we panicked but a few minutes later it popped itself back into place. What could have happened? If it is mbd, is this something that is contagious? It was housed with another baby for awhile, but was removed when some things seemed strange (hasn't gained weight, the other who was with it when we got it was already about twice the size, and is now 10g while baby in question is 3g with no tail. Please help!

MBD is not a contagious disease. It is a deficiency rather than a parasite, bacteria, or virus. I attached a link to another thread where I have pictures of a gecko with MBD. It isn't a leo, but you can still see the signs in the animal. MBD is treatable with calcium supplements. Usually it is indicated by bowing of limbs, or a sagging jaw. If you suspect MBD, I suggest contacting a vet to determine a course of treatment.

It sounds like your small hatchling may have been bullied out of food by the other it was with, or just stressed having company. Putting it by itself was a good idea. Continue to monitor food intake, fecals and weight. It will take awhile to catch up to the others more than likely. We end up moving animals around quite a bit because they grow at different rates.

As far as the leg looking like it was out of joint, we have had that happen before. Each time the animal has corrected it within minutes. We panicked the first time we saw it too, but soon learned that it usually is nothing to worry about. The little buggers are more flexible than we realize. If it doesn't correct it on its own within the day, then I would suggest seeking the advice of a vet because it really could be a dislocated joint.
