Mealies in the Tank

So I've seen how some of you guys keep mealworms in a dish pretty much all the time in with your leos. How long can they stay in there before they "go bad" if the leo doesn't eat them right away? How many do you usually keep in the dish at one time in a given time period?

1 or 2 days before I switch them out with fresh ones.

I actually leave them in there but put in a pinch of food and of course my vit supps, plus I cut a blueberry in half so they can eat that for moisture plus get some nutrients for my geckos. Blueberries work great for this. Probably add some nice flavor to the worms too.
