Mealworm beetle problems

I've been trying to breed my mealworms and have a lot of them pupating in to beetles, but so far I only have 3 alive beetles. The rest keep dying or getting stuck in their pupa shells. It looks like they're drying out or getting the bedding/food stuck to them and unable to get out =/
Any advice or tips?

Yea, I always seperate the pupae. Others didn't have a problem but I had issues with other worms and beetles eating the pupae. I'm a big fan of the three drawer system, it makes things a breeze for the colony.

This is strange... I ordered 2k meal worms and within a month I had over 400 Beetles. I have the worms in a tub with wheat bran mixed with rolled oats and no lid. I feed them carrots and potatoes regularly. I started separating the pupae from the worms and then the Beetles from the pupae and then everything was morphing to rapidly for me to keep up and before i knew it i got beetles in my meal worm bin and pupae bin. I have no real humidity in there considering there is no lid on any of their bins... The only thing i do a bit differently is I rinse and soak my veggies for hours before giving it to the worms/beetles. I use more carrot then potato since the potato drys out and molds way faster then the carrot.

Well, I got it sorted. I just started taking all of the pupa out from the mealworms and putting them in a tupperware. When the beetles come out I just put them in their own tub for egg laying. Working so far :)
