mealworm beetles

so i just got my 1000 mealies from nyworms and i have found 10 pupae and 1 beetles, my question is the beetles i found look nothing like the ones i have seen before on this site. They are hairy and look like rollypollies and are black. Is this a young stage of beetle?

That isn't a mealworm beetle. I've found a few of those when I've gotten crickets, not sure what exactly they are but it's not a mealworm beetle for sure.

hi i wondered if anyone could help me...my leopard gecko has dark skin and it was bright does anyone know why its gone dark?? its 80of on the cool side of his tank and also has his heat mat on half way under his hide on the cool side aswel... any idea??

i just tossed the beetles i found, i found 14 pupae so i am just waiting for them to hatch

Sounds like the bugs they use to eat the dead feeders. I don't know for sure though.

how long is it take for the pupae to hatch?

they are not beetles... they are simply cleaner bugs... they are good and harmless... no worries... they will eat dead bugs and poop... ewwwww just nifty lil cleaners

pupaes dont hatch so to speak... but they will morph in a week or 2, it has several different factors to determine when... but with in a couple weeks you will have beetles...


and the hi-jacking newbie... welcome, you should really PM a mod about your problem with posting, and im guessing your gecko will be sheding soon
