I was just wonder on how tall is to tall for a meal worm dish, I bought some see through round containers that screw together and you suppose to put beads and things in and they are about 1 inch height. I have tried them out for a bout 2 weeks now and it seems there is a lot less eating of mealworms out of these dishes and everyone is eating cricket’s .Do you think the dishes are to high and they don't want/can't eat out of them or is it just that time of the year?

-Thanks

Could be a little of both - I don't think a 1 inch dish is too much for a juvie or adult though.

I had the exact opposite problem here - I switched to shallow glass dishes (1/2 inch sides) because I was worried my leo was having trouble seeing the mealies, but after a few days of no worms disappearing I went back to my ceramic dish (around 3/4 to an inch high), and caught him snacking this morning.

If you're worried about the height you could always lower the dish a little (build up a ramp with clay, legos, etc. so your leo can get "above" the dish to see in and grab worms)
