Mealworm experiment

So I decided to see if my cockatiel would eat a mealworm. So I bring my bird downstairs by the leo tank and put a mealworm on the table to see what my bird would do. He starting singing to it. I couldn't get him to realize what it was, so I picked the worm up and held it in front of his face. He went to bite it until he saw it was moving and he backed away real quick. So I was kinda dissapointed, thought it would be interesting. I go to put the mealworm back and see my leo pressed up against the glass, looking at the mealworm, licking his lips. My bird saw the leo and flew off the table haha. I was so mad I didnt have a camera.

LOL! I'm surprised it didn't go for it.

My bird is scared of everything. If he sees a leaf blowing outside he runs to me like hes being chased.

That's too bad... many birds eat mealworms!

Yeah, I'm gonna try again. I just thought it was hilarious when I looked over and saw my leo pressed up against the glass eyeing that mealworm. If only he would realize there are about 20 in a dish less than 1 inch away from him.
